2 Nights/3 Days

Family Eco-Cultural Adventure

Day 1

Arrive in San Isidro de El General by 11am and enjoy a traditional lunch at Eny´s Café de la Casa, such as a casado con fresco. 

After lunch, enjoy an adventurous 1.5 hour drive deep into the Costa Rican countryside.  The road to Finca 3 Semillas goes up into elevations that are characterized by cloud forests and down into a secluded valley of montane and premontane rainforest, marked by the winding División river.  Along the way, there are breathtaking views of the lush green mountains, rainforest valleys and the ocean in the distance.

Enjoy a tour of the farm and learn about its operations.  Grab a shovel and get involved in the farming activities or simply enjoy a relaxing afternoon hanging in a hammock, unpacking and exploring the gardens and grounds.  

Every evening, all guests are encouraged to grab a salad basket and help harvest the greens and veggies that will be served as part of dinner.  

After dinner, help prep the corn that will be used to make hand-made tortillas the following day.

Day 2

For those who rise with the sun, the early morning hours offer an opportunity for spectacular bird watching and engaging in early farm-life activities, such as milking the cows. 

After a hearty breakfast, set off on horseback to spend a full morning exploring nearby towns and little known trails into the Los Santos Forest Reserve.  

After lunch with a local family, enjoy an afternoon visiting a nearby waterfall and participating in farming activities such as planting, pressing sugar cane, and making tortillas.

End the evening with a special gathering around the fire to hear jungle stories and lore from Gerardo, a native to this area of Costa Rica who is full of tales and legends of the rainforest.

Day 3

After another amazing breakfast, enjoy a morning at the river swimming and playing under the shade of an old-growth rainforest grove.

Depart for San Isidro de El General by 11am.
