Costa Rica the local way

Thanks to the support of visitors, and traveling families who participate in the Eco-Education Rainforest Camp, as well as the buyers of the farm's organic produce at the weekly San Isidro Farmer's Market, the Saenz-Newton Family is able to implement and fund an English through Eco-Education Program for the local Costa Rican children of the nearby ranches and farms.

On Saturdays and some weekday afternoons, a group of local children ages 2 to 10 come for an after-school program whereas they receive English classes through hands-on activities on the farm, in the classroom, the kitchen, the rainforest, the greenhouse, etc.   They learn about organic farming methods and sustainable living practices in an experiential setting.   In addition, during school breaks, Tres Semillas hosts vacation camps co-developed with the local families being served.

Visiting guests and families are encouraged to volunteer and participate in these activities during their stay, as volunteers, observers or students.
